First post since my arrival!

What an experience!  My first overseas travel was amazingly close to flawless.  There were many individuals in each airport to answer questions, of which I had many.  I will say now that I completely understandje jet lag!  I got to my hotel around 1 pm on Saturday, March 7th, ran to the mini Matt for snack food, and went to bed!  I slept off and on, communicating electronocally with family and friends, until approximately 12 pm today, Sunday, March 8th.

For those interested, Italy DOES participate in daylight savings time, but not until later this month.  So for a few weeks I will be 5 hours ahead of the United States and then return to 6 hours.

I spent my day organizing my room and took a quick trip to get groceries.  After I returned to my room I had a delicious dinner in the Restaurant in our hotel.  There were many items on the menu I want to try so I will enjoy returning several more times.

Bruschetta and a Greek Salad!  Delicious!

Brief Status Update

Well, I could go on and on, but I’ll suffice it to say I remain on schedule to depart the United States for Naples Italy this Friday, March 6th.

I spent the day organizing paperwork needed for the trip and sorting, washing, drying every article of clothing I own with Kristina. It was a joy to hang out with her today, although I’m exhausted from the work we did!

I was blessed to attend Worship rehearsal at Northside tonight where the team prayed for God’s hand on my travel, adventure and life. It was such a blessing to gather one last time.

Afterward I was treated to a fabulous meal by Kristina and her beau, Nathan. I was excited that Brooke was able to join us too!

Tomorrow will be a full day at the office, spent packing my belongings and saying goodbye to everyone I worked with.

The next time I post may be this weekend…from Naples Italy. Stay tuned!

The Journey Begins

An amazing opportunity was placed in my path in August 2019. I was asked if I would be interested in interviewing for a position I applied for several years ago in Naples, Italy. I IMMEDIATELY responded “Yes!” The rest, as they say, is history.

After MANY months of preparation and planning, my journey to Naples is about to begin! I depart the United States on Friday, March 6, 2020 to spend a minimum of three years, possibly five years, in Naples.

My goal is to post photos and articles frequently of my adventures not only in Italy but throughout Europe. I am so looking forward to the opportunity to take in breathtaking sites and history I found boring when was iin school.

I’d love you to join me in this adventure by subscribing to my blog. My goal is to provide interesting, informative, and entertaining posts beginning March 6, 2020.
